"John Barry, a native of Massachusetts, earned degrees at Bates College in Maine and at Boston University.  Before coming to Jacksonville in 1976 he served churches in Massachusetts and California.  He retired as organist and choirmaster of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in May 2006 after 30 years of service."
