Following the service, the annual parish picnic was held on the Cathedral grounds.

Note: Since we were celebrating St. Francis Day today, my wife, Cindy Miller, DVM, was invited to give the children's sermon.  We brought along her office cat Sweet Pea, a former stray kitty found after apparently being hit by a car; he's still partially paralyzed, and he managed to totally divert the kid's attention from what Cindy was saying - good thing it was a short sermon <grin>.
